We run a free support service for unpaid carers in Gloucestershire.

At the last count, there were more than 63,000 unpaid Carers in Gloucestershire offering support to one or more people

Sometimes, people caring for others don’t even know they are classed as unpaid carers, but see themselves as a friend, relative or partner.

If you provide any of these services for someone who is ill, disabled or has a mental health or substance misuse problem, then you are a carer:

  • Emotional support
  • Medical care
  • Personal care
  • Physical care
  • Tasks around the home

We understand the pressures placed on carers – and we want to help.

Caring responsibilities can affect emotional and physical health and wellbeing, so our free Carers Hub offers support whenever you need it.

Delivered in partnership with the Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group and Gloucestershire County Council, we can help with things like:

  • Information, advice and guidance
  • Carers’ assessments and support planning
  • Carers’ emergency scheme
  • Carers’ breaks
  • Carers’ wellbeing payments
  • Hospital liaison
  • Carers’ voice
  • Positive caring education and training
  • Emotional and wellbeing support
  • Peer support and support groups

Anyone can self-refer into the Hub and anyone can refer someone else for support.

To find out more about our services, visit the Gloucestershire Carers Hub, email us at carers@peopleplus.co.uk, call 0300 111 900 or fill in the form below.

Support is also available to young carers under the age of 18 through the Gloucestershire Young Carers programme.
